Creative Futures: 7-17 year olds
Are you aged between 7-17 years old and interested in teaching an art class at Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum?
This spring, we are inviting tamariki and rangatahi from the community to design and deliver art classes for families and whānau during the school holidays. This invitation aims to provide a supportive environment in which young aspiring artists can showcase their talents; broaden their horizons; build confidence; and learn new skills by teaching others. In addition, it is a fantastic opportunity to gain work experience and references for CVs and university applications.
So, would you like to teach an art class? AAGM will provide all the materials and support you require for a class, all we need to know are your ideas!
To apply, please complete and return the application form to our art educator Hope River at hoper@adc.govt.nz by Tuesday 20th September. If you need help answering any of the questions, please contact Hope and she will happily help.
We will be selecting two art class ideas to run and will contact the young people behind these ideas on Thursday 22nd September. Hope will then arrange a meeting during the week of Monday 26th September to help young people plan and bring their ideas to life.
