
October School Holidays
These school holidays, there are a number of activities to keep the kids busy and entertained, including:
Come Fly with Me | Wooden plane decorating
Fly into the Gallery to decorate your own wooden plane inspired by Gregory O’Brien’s artwork ‘Flying Lesson’.
Be sure to get in quick as this programme is limited to 300 children. A cost of $2 applies for materials which can be paid to the Gallery reception. This activity is open to children aged 3 years and above. It requires adult supervision for children under the age of 13.
No booking required, just drop in anytime between 10-4pm daily.
Building our Future | District Art Competition
In conjunction with the Ashburton District Council, the Gallery is hosting the annual district art competition. This year, visitors are asked to drawing a picture of what the imagine Ashburton will look like in the future. The winning design will be chosen by the Mayor and will be the ADC festive season card. An additional 50 designs will be used as hoardings around the construction of the new Council Buildings on Baring Square.
Molly’s Masterpiece
This October, visitors will get a chance to play catch-up with Molly and will be able to collect all six pieces that have been released to date. An activity sheet can be collected from reception before embarking on a hunt through the Gallery to find our canine friend.
