New Year, New Staff, New Ideas!

In January Nicole Bourke made the shift from Christchurch to join the staff at the Ashburton Art Gallery, replacing our beloved Ali Curwood. She was warmly welcomed by staff and committee members at a picnic in her honour in the first few weeks of 2015. The picnic which took place in the stunning Ashburton Domain was a relaxed and happy event which gave everyone an opportunity to get to know Nicole and vice versa. Did you know Nicole can speak Japanese? Neither did we! We also learnt that our committee members are fantastic cooks and many new recipes were exchanged on the night. From Paulin Mead’s impressive bacon and egg pie to Susan Lill’s pickled green beans, the night was filled with good food, laughter and outstanding company.
We also learnt that blowing bubbles is hard work and should be left for little kids. They know the secret techniques!
