Static No. 16 (fisher-yates shuffle)
ABOUT THIS EXHIBITION
DATES & TIMES
5 March- 3 April
Open Daily: 10am - 4pm
New media artist Daniel Crooks and the Chartwell Collection will be in Ashburton for the first time with the presentation of Static No.16 (fisher-yates shuffle).
This innovative video work will challenge your perspective of everyday realities as a populated urban setting is manipulated and time and motion are slowed down. Crooks uses an innovative ‘time slice’ video technique by using slices of moving image to create a digital collage. This work plays with the richness of the environment and the movement of people who cross paths and overlap but somehow never collide.
This work is on loan from the Chartwell Collection, currently on long term loan at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki. The Chartwell Collection is unique from other public and private collections in the country with a sole focus on contemporary Australian and New Zealand art.
