ABOUT THIS EXHIBITION
DATES & TIMES
25 August- 14 October
Open Daily: 10am - 4pm
Dunedin-based artist David Green will created an immersive and experiemental space for our visitors in the Carr Family Gallery. Green is interested in the concept of emergence, an idea more closely aligned with the work of scientists and philosophers than a visual artist. Emergence can be broadly defined as the ability of individual parts of a large system to work together to give rise to a spontaneous, dramatic and diverse behaviour. This concept is explored in the coming together of light and image in the video installation by Green which seeks to challenge perception.
Green currently lecturers in photography and electronic arts at Dunedin School of Art. He has an extensive background in the film industry with a particular interest in the field of expanded cinema.
