This exhibition takes its name from the sign on the door of the Art Room at Ashburton College during the time
that former Head of Art, Selwyn Price taught there. depARTment draws together the artwork of current and
post-secondary school students with the aim to highlight the value of the art programmes in our school curriculum. To asemble these works, Price has also collaborated with the current Head of Art at
Ashburton College, Claire Robertshaw and Head of Art at Mt Hutt College, Lisa Ponweiser, to bring to light the work of students currently enrolled in art courses.
This exhibition celebrates the diverse scope and outcomes of art education, and the teachers who dedicate themselves to the progress of students in the visual arts.
