ABOUT THIS EXHIBITION
DATES & TIMES
26 July - 30 August 2020
Open Daily: 10am - 4pm
This winter, the large dream-like paintings of Christchurch-based painter Michael Holland will fill the Carr Family Gallery and are sure to tickle your imagination.
Holland’s highly imaginative and detailed works capture unique representations of land and seascape with the merging of interior and exterior spaces. Melding dreams, art history, and personal references his paintings feel both familiar and at odds with reality. Largely self-taught, Holland’s early inspiration came from masters such as Munch, van Gogh, Bruegel and Klimt and have led him to develop his own visual language.
