Indecipherable Celebration

ABOUT THIS EXHIBITION

about-exhibition

DATES & TIMES

11 December 2022 - 27 January 2023

Open Daily: 10am - 4pm

Indecipherable Celebration presents recent work by Ōtautahi Christchurch based painter Gareth Brighton. Since graduating from Ilam School of Fine Arts with his Masters in 2016, Brighton has worked with a variety of media including painting, printmaking and sculpture. Despite this, he retains a consistent and striking style which encourages viewers to explore the diverse materials used throughout his practice.

Using recycled and scavenged items, Brighton’s painting and sculpture resurrect the cast-off, unwanted, and surplus materials of contemporary society, reviving them to create objects that are figurative yet other-worldly.

Join us to celebrate the opening on Saturday 10 December at 5.30pm. A free public event. All welcome.
