A cutting-edge approach to photography will be on show in the Carr Family Gallery this spring through Dr Mizuho Nishioka’s solo exhibition, North by Northwest.
This exhibition will include a number of photographic works with imagery captured by the artist during a field trip to mid-Canterbury over the summer period. This imagery will be disrupted by the artist as her work pushes the possibilities and limitation of technology and the medium of digital photography.
Nishioka was the first in New Zealand to complete a PhD in photography at Massey University, Wellington in 2016. She was also the first person in Fine Arts to a receive the Vice-Chancellor’s Doctoral scholarship. Nishioka has exhibited throughout NZ and currently works at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington as a Lecturer in Photography.
