ABOUT THIS EXHIBITION
DATES & TIMES
25 January - 21 February 2021
Open Daily: 10am - 4pm
Our 2021 exhibition programme opens with a new series of work by local painter Jennifer Harrison. Having recently completed a BVA from Otago School of Art, Harrison’s painting practice of over twenty years is now shifting towards abstraction.
Weather Beaten – Experiences and Atmospheres explores the turmoil of extreme weather events and their impact on the land.
Taking inspiration from the vast range of landscapes in New Zealand’s high country, Harrison creates large-scale loose-canvas works which are moody, suggestive and full of expressionist techniques.
Working from her studio Colliding Colours on Burnett Street, Harrison finds the process of making art both therapeutic and engaging.
