October School Holidays 2023
School holidays are here! Check out what we have going on at the Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum.
District Card Competition
We are getting festive with our annual District Card competition. This year we are taking inspiration from the photographs on display in our current exhibition Ngā Taonga o Hakatere: One Hundred Years of Forest & Bird and will create cards using collage materials.
The competition is open to all children between 5-13 years and will be judged by Ashburton’s Mayor Neil Brown. The winning design will be the official holiday card of the Ashburton District Council, while the People’s Choice winner will be featured as the AAGM card. Both winners will receive 25 copies of their card to send to loved ones.
Finished entries will be on display at the Art Gallery and Museum from 8 October.
Entries must be delivered to the Gallery reception by 4pm on Sunday 8 October 2023. Voting for the People’s Choice Award will run from 11–18 October.
