The House that Luke Built
Here are a few words from one of the participants in our Faces and Places exhibition last month.
Hi I’m Luke and this is my report about a house I made at the Ashburton Art Gallery.
It was a brick house made of cardboard. It had red bricks with white filling and a brown roof. I didn’t have time to put a light blue letter box on, but it still looked good. I had some helpers, their names were; Lochlan Sutte, Emily Carter (main helper) and Nicole Bourke.
The house is based on my Nan and Pop’s house. The door was based on a type of minecraft door. At the back of the roof there was a hole, so Lochlan and I made it into on attic.
At the end of the exhibition, the house went to Thomas Street kindergarton. The children had a great time playing in it.
Maybe next time I can make a sky scraper…
